Page Breaks & Content Continuity
One of the first steps to creating a website is content development. Many individuals, when embarking upon their first (or even tenth) web design project will go straight to design and layout issues. This is not always advantageous, though it does help to have an idea of what you like, dislike, would tolerate and would be overjoyed to display.
When developing your content, Ash Risen recommends that you start with a standard, old-fashioned outline. This helps avoid the "never ending page" on your website. Books are published with about 250 words per page. Web pages should exempt navigational text, headers and footers but should usually try to stay under 500 words of main text.
The outline method of content development helps you make sure you're including the appropriate information in the correct areas. It also helps you see, at a glance, how you'll end up indexing your site.
