Dial-Up Viewers

With great advances and wide availability of high-speed internet connections, especially at places of business, sometimes the dial-up viewer is forgotten.  

If you're designing your own website using a pre-packaged HTML editor (like FrontPage) be sure to check their indicated download time.  FrontPage defaults to "X seconds over 28.8" connections.  While most dial-up viewers generally connect at speeds greater than 28.8, it's a good idea to keep the total seconds at 28.8 to sixty or less, if/when possible.  

When the download time gets into the three digits, it's probably time to evaluate your graphics, amount of text and gunked-up HTML coding.
